Bob Collins and James Apps - Island Artists and Poets with Bill Anthony

We are poets and artists living on the Isle of Sheppey off-shore of Kent and connected to it by a bridge across the Swale. We are performing members of the Sittingbourne and Sheppey Writers Group and we like to take our Ship's Rat with us to events.

Sheppey Writers

The Ship's Rat was discovered at During a Sea Sheppey event and adopted as a mascot and companion. The poor creature was subjected to some humiliating treatment - displayed as a possible meal for a starving drunken sailor; used to frighten women and children and as the reason for walking around calling out 'Bring out your Dead! Plague! Plague' . The source of amusement during our performances the Rat is a much loved part of our small society.

We also have two friends who perform with us.

We take pride in trying not to be politically correct and at performances we are likely to make rude comments to dignitaries - usually followed up afterwards by humble, grovelling apologies.

We don't paint with crayons.

We do support local artists
